Answer:
It is very easy to get lost or misplace one’s hope with all the pull, stress, and demands of life. Those areas of life demand our attention and ultimately we surrender our hope, also. The key to finding hope again is to focus. The Bible teaches an important Truth about focusing and hope. In Psalms 42:5, God states, “Why art thou cast down, o my soul? And why art thou disquieted (upset) in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.”
Notice what happened to King David. He lost his hope because he was not focused upon God. Hope and focus go together. Where there is no hope, the focus is lost. When the focus switches from God to something or someone else, hope is lost. God’s answer is simple. Focus back upon Him by putting Him first. Matthew 6:33 states, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
