What kind of advice does the Bible give for people with addictions?

ANSWER:

 This question is complex, but I will simplify. All addictiveness begins with an inner void: God created an inner void that He alone can meet. When someone chooses to fill the inner void with something or someone, addiction begins to grow. The more the process repeats, the stronger the addictiveness becomes.

However, if the same person chooses to satisfy an inner void with a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, addiction does not grow strong nor take root. While this is a very simple definition, the point is clear. God made us to need Him. Without Him, people fill an inner void with substances or relationships. As a counselor, we seek to lead people back to a new relationship with God. In so doing, God meets their needs and addiction does not occur.

Philippians 2:13 states:
“for it is God, which worketh in your to will and to do of His good pleasure.”

John 10::10 states:
“and ye shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.”

Those bound to addictiveness can find freedom through knowing the Truth.
